About this Rug

Heriz carpets are among the most recognizable Persian rugs. They have large and powerful angular designs with a dominant geometric medallion or an open field of geometrically stylized floral motifs. These carpets are hand knotted in the town of Heriz and its surrounding villages in north-western Iran. They have bright colors, mainly brick and rust reds, burnt orange and tangerine hues, with blues and contrasting shades of beige, ivory and yellows. The bold wide borders with the wide variations of angular geometric floral motifs are very distinctive and set the Heriz rugs apart. The bold geometrics and strong colors of Heriz rugs are extremely popular with the western markets and blend with traditional, southwestern and modern décor styles.
